Akane Misaki and Ken Hazama end up living together for a week due to a clerical error by the landlord. Although he was a total stranger, Akane finds herself looking out for him—like fixing his crooked tie. Hazama, too, shows his thoughtfulness by preparing meals for Akane when she returns home exhausted. They share lively conversations—the kind Akane never experienced with her own family. Realizing she is starting to find this life comfortable, Akane busies herself tidying her bag to hide her feelings from Hazama. Then, she remembers she has a parent-teacher conference the next day. She begs Hazama to pose as her uncle; though initially reluctant, he senses her situation and agrees to help.
